The Tennessee Rural Partnership (TRP) announces the 2016 TRP STAR Awardees. The purpose of the TRP STAR Award is to build a pipeline of future rural physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Students shadow local healthcare providers and are provided a $500 scholarship to further their studies toward becoming healthcare providers themselves. The hope is that one day they will return to their hometown to practice.
TRP is pleased that we have been able to expand the number of awards from two in 2013 to seven in 2016. We are honored to present these seven outstanding rural students with scholarships and shadowing opportunities. They are:
|Awardee||High School||County||Grand Division|
|Lauren Clark||Riverside H.S.||Decatur County||West Tennessee|
|Morgan Reddix||Riverside H.S.||Decatur County||West Tennessee|
|Savannah Long||Hardin County H.S.||Hardin County||West Tennessee|

|Brooke Smedley||Moore County H.S.||Moore County||Middle Tennessee|
|Ben Galloway||Copper Basin H.S.||Polk County||East Tennessee|
