Dr. Robert T. Means, Dean of East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine, has been awarded a prestigious honor by the Southern Society of Clinical Investigation (SSCI). He received the SSCI’s highest honor, the Founders Medal, during this year’s annual conference.
Since 1973, the SSCI has awarded the Founders Medal to a member who has provided leadership for growth and who is a nationally recognized leader in medicine. Dr. Means is the first ETSU faculty member to receive the award.
Dr. Means is a past-president and councilor of the SSCI and currently serves on the Executive Advisory Committee. He is also convener of the annual Southern Blood Club session. Last year Dr. Means was also appointed deputy editor of the Journal of Investigative Medicine.
Dr. Means serves on the Tennessee Rural Partnership Board of Directors. We congratulate him on this outstanding achievement.
